Stewart Mitchell Blackwell, 55, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Midland Care Hospice House. He was born January 31, 1958 in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Irvin Blackwell and Mary Newman Blackwell. He attended Topeka Public Schools, graduating from Topeka High School. He was a member of Jack and Jill, Incorporated and the Shawnee Lake Softball Association. Stewart dedicated his life to Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of St. John's AME Church. As a young child he was involved as an Alter Boy and sang in the Cherub Choir. He was the owner and operator of Blackwell and Son Parking Lot Striping and Marking Service. Stewart was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Blackwell; son, Daniel Christopher, Sr., May 22, 1999; brother, Charles Blackwell and brother-in-law, David Pettie. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Mary Blackwell; grandson, Daniel Christopher, Jr., Topeka, KS; granddaughter, Ashlie Christopher, Topeka, KS; great-grandson, Xavier Kelly, Topeka, KS; daughter-in-law, Lisa Christopher, Topeka, KS; his four sisters, Ellen Stewart (Bill), Lawrence, KS, Joyce Petite, Hurst, TX, Judith Revely (Donald), Topeka, KS and Jennifer Littleton (Clifford) Lithonia, GA and a host of other relative and friends.
