David Scott Gustin, 31, of Topeka died Thursday, Nov. 9, 1989, at a Topeka hospital of complications from diabetes.
Mr. Gustin was a restaurant manager.
He was born July 16, 1958, on Oberlin, the son of John L. and Mildred Hase Gustin. He spent his early years in Oberlin and has lived in Topeka since 1969. He was graduated from Topeka High School.
Mr. Gustin was a member of Northside Church of Christ and the American Diabetes Association.
He was married to Brenda Stacy on June 15, 1983, in Miami, Okla. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mindy Gustin, in California; a son, David Stacy Gustin, of the home; his parents, John and Mildred Gustin, Topeka; three sisters, Marsha Conchola and Anita Stadler, both of Topeka; and Sherrie Rogers, Selden; and a brother, Darris Gustin, Kansas City, Mo.
Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be at 11 am Monday in Northside Church of Christ, 555 N.W. 46th. Mr. Gustin will lie in state after 8 am today at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home where family and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 pm today. Memorial contributions may be made to the David Stacy Gustin Education Fund in care of the funeral home.
