On July 26, 2022, Michele A. Smith passed away peacefully at age 63.

Born in Carthage, MO to Murlin Gene and Margie (Coates) Smith in August 1958 and later moved to Topeka, in 1963 later graduating from Topeka High School. She was a graduate of Washburn University with an Associates in Paralegal Studies working in the legal field for over 20 years. Her career includes working with the Law Offices of Tuck Duncan, Randy Baird, and Kansas SRS/DCF where she retired in 2012 after surviving Lung Cancer.

In her retirement she cared for her father until he passed, gardened, and was an avid reader.

Survivors include four children Christopher Langsford, Nicole M (Chad) Malcom, Hillary Bixby, Brandon Champagne, and three grandkids Liberty and Robert Malcom and Jace Crowder.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Minta J Rumsey, and brother Michael Smith.
